8th Annual Conference of the GWMT
The eighth annual conference of the Society for the History of Science, Medicine, and Tech nology (GWMT) will take place in Prague from September 9–11, 2026. The overarching theme is “Epistemic Passages: Knowledge in Translation”.
Local organization is provided by the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences (MIA CAS), in cooperation with the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and the Prague branch of the Leibniz Institute for the History and Culture of Eastern Europe (GWZO).

Prague has many hotels and guesthouses, as well as private accommodations that can be booked through Airbnb or booking.com. Early booking is nevertheless recommended, as September is peak tourist season. The hotels listed below have a block of rooms reserved for the GWMT conference. We particularly recommend the Hotel Troja, which MIA CAS frequently books for conferences and where we have the entire hotel available as a block.
