Spolupráce: Archiwum Nauki PAN i PAU w Krakowie
The project focuses on the phenomenon of images of landscape, nature and society, and on analysing photographic images and ego-documents as sources of knowledge in scholarly cooperation. These images and impressions circulated within scientific societies, magazines, and private correspondence contributing to the mobility of Polish and Czechoslovak researchers. The aim of the project is to show the potential of these types of documents in scientific research. The images were duplicated and distributed for the purpose of additional investigation, but at present some of these reproductions have become primary sources. The study of landscape, environmental protection, traditional folk culture and art is a subject of considerable interest to contemporary naturalists, historians and ethnographers. The significant increase in requests for research received by archives is evidence of the growing importance of cooperation between academic archives in the Czech Republic and Poland.
