Collections of documents that are not an organic remnant of the activities of an institution or an individual and therefore cannot be considered archival fonds are classified as collections. Their origin and nature are different. As a rule, they are collections according to the type of objects (e.g. a collection of medals, art objects, a collection of manuscripts, a collection of photographs) or according to a common theme (e.g. a collection of documents about a particular personality). Some of the collections were created by individuals, others were created directly in the archive. For the sake of completeness, this overview of the collections also lists the relevant collections in the possession of the T. G. Masaryk Institute, o. p. s.
