Nový příspěvek EHRI Document Blogu: “They became my children too”: The Multi-layered meanings of family letters from the Jewish Maquis in France

This paper analyses the multilayered coded language of private letters sent by Robert Gamzon, leader of the French Jewish Scouts, to his hiding family. The letters give insight into his personal experiences, the coordination of his growing underground resistance activities, and the ways in which he communicated about these activities. They show how the resistance of the French Jewish Scouts functioned, and how Gamzon perceived this work.
