The Director of the Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences, announces a vacancy on the position of:
Researcher
in the Department of Modern Political and Intellectual History
Research focus:
Intellectual and/or political history of East-Central Europe 1848–1948
Job description:
- Original research in the given field and publication of its results in the Czech Republic and abroad
- designing and implementing grant projects,
- organization of scholarly meetings,
- participation in infrastructure projects in the field of digital humanities.
Qualification requirements:
- University education in history or related disciplines at the doctoral level (Ph.D. or recognized equivalent),
- significant international experience,
- international scholarly and publishing profile with a focus on East-Central European history between 1848 and 1948,
- active knowledge of English, passive knowledge of at least one other world language,
- knowledge of other East-Central European languages is an advantage,
- ability to work independently and as part of a team.
We offer:
- full-time employment (or reduced hours in the case of caring for a dependent),
- a 3-year employment contract with the possibility of extension,
- a position in a stable research institution with adequate remuneration,
- performance-based bonuses,
- benefits: 5 weeks of vacation, sick days, meal vouchers, pension insurance contribution, language courses,
- start date from December 1, 2025, or by agreement.
