Postdoctoral position at MIA CAS

The Masaryk Institute and Archives of the Czech Academy of Sciences is offering a one to two-year postdoctoral position, starting on January 1, 2024 


Research focus:

Political and/or social history of Central Europe 1848–1948



This position is open to post-docs, who in the moment of application can have max. two years after acquiring PhD (excluding possible parental leave and/or long-term stay abroad. In that case the maximum time span between acquiring PhD and applying can be 4 years). The candidates must hold their PhD degree at the time of applying for the position.


Other requirements: 

Active knowledge of English or German; partial knowledge of at least one of the following languages will be of advantage: Czech, Polish, Slovak, Slovene, Hungarian.

3)     Letter of motivation.

4)     Project title and project proposal (in two to four pages) including planned deliverables and information about all current projects of the applicant (doc/docx). 

5)     Rough work plan (up to 4500 signs in doc/docx), please indicate the preferred length of the contract between 12 and 24 months.
