Archival theory and practice

The staff of the Masaryk Institute and the Archives of the CAS professionally process personal and institutional archival holdings and thus make them accessible to the research community. The Archives manages 711 archival holdings and collections with a total size of 5,900 linear metres. The MIA CAS is entrusted with the methodological management and control in the field of pre-archival care and file and shredding services of all bodies and departments of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and scientific societies associated in the Council of Scientific Societies. The Institute provides training and consultations in the field of file management and eGovernment, including auditing activities, both for the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and for external entities.
